How to tell someone you are feeling good or happy

Happiness is Contagious!!

This winter has been so harsh that I find many people are coming into the clinic with sadness and depression due to the grey days!! So I decided to do a bit of an experiment!  I thought perhaps something small that brings a smile or joy might make you happy during the day!

So I showed my patients this video!  Happy by Pharell Williams


 Then got them to record how they felt during the day!!

Most of them recorded YES HAPPIER during the day!!

Stretch Out

Ever feel stiff at the end of the day? Do you find yourself begging your partner for a foot rub? Wanting to schedule a massage but don't have the time? Wouldn't you want to feel relaxed and flexible? Follow some of my healthy stretch tips that you can do anywhere, anytime. 

1) Bend forward as far as you can go without straining your lower back
2) reach up high and take a deep breath and 
3) lean on your side and pause for 20 seconds
Top 5 Ways to Protect Yourself at Work

Just this week, I had several patients complain about aches and pains caused by their work environment. Here are the top easy adjustments I suggest:

1. Phone books are old school - but find something of similar thickness, put it under your desk, and use it to elevate your feet to protect your lowback.

2. Protect your wrists! Make sure that when your forearms are parallel to the ground, your wrists can be slightly flexed for comfortable typing

3. To avoid eye strain and neck cramps make sure you can look straight at the upper 1/3 of your screen without tipping your head

4. Takes breaks. We're all busy, but make sure to walk away from your desk at least every 15 minutes (set an alarm if you have to) and look away from your screen to let your eyes refocus even more often

5. Posture, posture, posture - head up, shoulders back, hips higher than knees and ... breathe!

Healthy Kid Snacks- QUICK


Looking for healthy snacks for kids?

Ever walk up and down the aisles looking for ideas for healthy snacks?  Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.  Follow this recipe below to for a quick and easy, affordable snack you can make with your children or alone, for a yummy treat.
All you need is :
1 cup macadamia nuts
1 cup dates
2 TBS of coconut oil
2TBS coconut flakes

Blend all the ingredients together and form into 1inch balls and place in the fridge.
Delicious and nutritious. Enjoy !
